Seattle Book Review Gives 5 stars to Feeding Hour
Jessica Gigot's poetry collection, Feeding Hour, garnered five out of five stars from Seattle Book Review. Reviewer Jane Manaster notes Jessica's keen eye and writes, "A thread runs through the poems as sheep and lambs and her own newborn find comfort in their nourishment, contentment in their surroundings. As a farmer, teacher, and musician, Gigot weaves all three into a fine thread, poems focus on her flock, the birth of lambs, the death of the first one she raised." Manaster especially admires the seven poem series on swans as "the most endearing segment of the collection," and tells readers "her poems delight."
House of Sound Coming October 22, 2020
Matthew Daddona's debut poetry collection, House of Sound, releases later this month. We're excited to share Matthew's poems, which Matthew Lippman calls "sonically and visually brilliant," and Chelsea Dingman describes as, "an exciting example of language as meditation, mediation, and conciliation, as well as action."
You can pre-order the book here.
In the meantime, check out Matthew's recent essay at Grammy.com about how a group of Colorado inmates came together to defy their own prejudices and record an album for the ages.
